You’re exhausted. You ache all over. You haven’t slept in what feels like days. Sounds like you’ve just completed the Tour de France or climbed Mount Everest. No, you’re “just” a Mom.
With all that is demanded of moms they need as many products as possible that save them time and energy. The latest and greatest baby products are created with the overextended mom in mind they make your life easier – or at least give you one less thing to worry about!
1. Baby Carriers – More commonly known as “baby slings”, baby carriers are no longer cumbersome pieces of equipment that are bulky and uncomfortable. Reminiscent of the swaths of fabric worn by tribal women, today’s baby carriers are easy to use and very comfortable. They make a great alternative to strollers and are perfect for keeping a baby calm by creating a “womb effect”. And the added bonus is that you can have your hands free to do other things.
2. Nursing Necklaces – Nursing babies pinch and pull at mom while they’re feeding. Ouch! To avoid this problem opt for a Nursing Necklaces (also called Breastfeeding Necklaces). Available in every style imaginable – from bright and colorful to stylish – every mom can find one that works for her.
3. Baby Sleep Sacks – Tens of thousands of European parents consider Baby Sleep Sacks a must have – and they’re finally catching on in North America. Essentially “wearable blankets”, sleep sacks provide baby with a safe alternative to sheets, blankets, and comforters. Because they replace all three, baby sleep sacks eliminate the risk that your baby may become entangled under a loose cover.
4. Shopping Cart Covers – Few places are there as many germs as in shopping carts.

A baby breathing monitor detects changes in breathing movements in the chest and abdomen of an infant. An alarm will ring and an integrated light will start to flash if breathing stops for longer than a pre-set time, which is usually around 20 seconds. Some monitors also measure the temperature and heartbeat of the baby. This device can be a huge asset to an uncertain new parent, especially during the night when they need efficient sleep during the time when you are settling in with your new baby. These breathing monitors are also used to see and hear your baby when you are in an another room. The monitor has two parts. A piece that is placed near the baby and the other that is with the parents. Either piece can work on batteries or by plugging it in electricity. There are plenty of factors that will affect the choice of a parent when choosing the right breathing monitor for their infant. There can be a wide range in price and features. It is important to do your own research. Also before buying make sure to look into your own home and the possibilities of interference from other devices. Don't forget that every home is unique and you might find other breathing machines to be more functional than others. You may ask your doctor and get recommendations from other professionals, as well as parents. These baby monitors are made to help you monitor your baby and alert you when there is something wrong, but it can't prevent all types of distress so make sure to plan ahead on what is to be done in case of emergency. If the alarm sounds on the monitor don't panic, remain calm and make sure you know the proper procedures for aiding the infant. A lot of parents are not prepared to act once the alarm sounds.

According to the National Institute of Health, more than half of babies under three months old are diagnosed with infant reflux. In the majority of cases, this condition is not be cause for serious alarm. Infant reflux treatment can often be accomplished at home with changes to diet and feeding routine. For bottle fed babies, infant reflux may be controlled by thickening the formula or breast milk with a small amount of rice cereal. Add 1 tbsp. per four ounces of formula or breast milk and mix thoroughly. If this mixture is too thick to flow through the nipple, the infant may fuss and parents can confuse this with food refusal. However, if this happens while trying this infant reflex treatment, you should try switching to a different size nipple or enlarge the opening on the nipple slightly by cutting a small X on the tip. Alternatively you may spoon feed the baby. Another infant reflux treatment some parents have had success with involves slight changes to the feeding routine. Though some infants like to drift off to sleep after a feeding, keeping the baby in an upright position for 30 minutes after a feeding may reduce infant reflux. The general advice is to keep the baby's head a minimum of 30% higher than their stomach. Also, babies with reflux should be burped more frequently during feedings. Stop to burp the baby after 2 oz. if bottle fed or if breastfeeding burp before switching breasts. This should also help keep the infant awake for the feeding and make it easier to keep the infant upright after feeding. Lastly, when your baby does nap after feeding, make sure he sleeps on his back.

When a baby begins to go through the teething process it can be very painful for them and very frustrating for you as a parent trying to provide some relief. Most babies usually start teething around the age of 6 months. Typically, the two lower front teeth will come in first, followed by the two top front teeth. Classic signs and symptoms of teething can include:
- Drooling, which may begin about two months before the first tooth appears
- Irritability or crankiness
- Swollen gums
- Chewing on solid objects
Researchers say that teething symptoms will occur in the mouth, but should not show up anywhere else in the body. So, fevers or diarrhea are not signs of teething as many parents often think. Here are a few great remedies to help soothe those sore gums and help your baby feel more comfortable.
- Rub your baby’s gums.
